Travelers who bring knowledge and good news to communities...
Nomads are people and projects that are not fixed in any specific place, migrating from one region to another driven by specific factors of their journey.Nomadism can be understood as a practice of intermittent domicile, when one lives continuously moving from one place to another. This practice is pointed out as one of the first forms of existence used by human beings on the planet, since when populations had the mechanism of movement as a tool of life. With the consolidation of agriculture as a human activity, nomadism became less practiced as a life strategy, but it never ceased to exist and, until today, many people opt for this lifestyle in their daily lives.Nomadic practices were transformed with the development of societies and began to appear under other guises.People and projects registered as Nomads at EKONAVI have the opportunity to present the ecological work they do in society, whether rural, traveling or technological.People who move around rural activities can indicate the places where harvesting and planting are taking place, as well as highlighting those establishments that are offering other job opportunities at a given time. There are also seed collectors, who can demonstrate the regions they are traveling to to find certain species. In addition to these, there are projects for adventurous travelers, who travel through the territory in different ways, using bicycles, vans, cars, motorcycles or even on foot. These people can present their ecological interactions from their travels on the platform, whether through art work, photography, text or social and educational interaction with the places they pass by.In the early days of human existence, nomadism was the most common practice of communities, and these groups of people could be characterized as hunter-gatherers or herders. The former had their lives marked by the need to seek food in different regions, following the guidance of nature and the flow of water, to carry out their harvest and hunting.Mobility in search of food could be due to the exhaustion of a certain fruit in a certain place, or the need to regenerate certain areas after intensive extraction. In addition, movements could occur through hunting, in which capture activities could enter the forest in search of specific animals. In a similar way, the shepherds carried out their movements in function of the animals, but carrying them and their grazing through the regions. The shepherd's activity was motivated by the need to feed his young, transporting them to places with better conditions of shelter and food, throughout the year. Thus, seasonality was also a determining factor for the flow of peoples, considering the seasons and the supply of food conditioned to the condition of climate and geographic region. With the development of agriculture in society, nomadic activity became less predominant as a life strategy among communities.New groups then began to gather around the production of food in a fixed place, erecting the structures of a new civilization.Once food becomes domesticated, through the production of vegetables, fruits and cereals, as well as the establishment of livestock farming, bringing conditions for settlement, people start to worry less about the need to migrate and concentrate their energies in the construction of other social structures, such as schools, shops, squares and churches. In this way, the sedentary condition of society created a whole new way of life for civilizations, establishing a new dynamic for the existence of the nomad being.Despite the decline of nomadic activity, it never lost its importance in general. The figure of people traveling between regions remained present over time, even though several new options for fixing life in cities and rural areas were created. This is due to the inherent need for exchanges in society and the adventurous spirit, causing other migratory activities to continue arising, resulting from these transformations and adaptations.Faced with the establishment of new civilizations, other functions similar to nomadism become part of the set of activities of society, such as merchants, artists, messengers, navigators, pioneers and diplomats. These people, despite having a different flow of migration, had characteristics similar to nomads, covering enormous distances and performing tasks relevant to their craft. In some cases, some of these figures chose to settle in a certain region and concentrate their life efforts in just one place. Thus, nomadic activity remains an element present in these new social functions that have emerged. In Brazil, we can observe different modalities of nomadism, as well as different arrangements, individual or collective. In rural regions, marked by agricultural activity, there is usually a kind of seasonal migration due to economic activity. Thus, people and families migrate at certain times of the year from one region to another, following the harvest or other need for employment in the field. These flows of people can also be thought of within the dynamics of nomadism, but with a character of the modern field, where structural and economic factors also influence human movement. On the other hand, there are also urban and rural migrations, in which people move from one environment to another, due to the diversification of their activities. Thus, some people are not located either in urban or rural areas, they carry out their activities in both regions, needing to stay different times in each region. In a way, with the advent of modernity and the exponential growth of cities, nomadism manages to regain some importance for society, considering the stagnation of people in urban centers and their difficulty in finding ways out for development. In this context, some people have chosen to leave their homes to go out in search of knowledge and new opportunities for life elsewhere. Thus, even with urban growth, nomadic activity finds new meaning, amid the need for social transformation. In this way, migrations remain present in the human spirit, driving the development of societies, in their expression of escape from a context of stagnation.🏡 Criar Projeto
